The new Jabba Aged carry as a novelty the application of the TEW technique both in the body and in the mast and the fingerboard. (The previous models of the Jabba Aged series and the Jabba Hadrien Feraud do not carry the bodies with the TEW system). A 5A TEW grade bird's eye maple tuning fork has been added (it is the best bird's eye maple on the market). And to top it off we have chosen a colour outside those offered as a basis in this model, a metallic colour called Metallic Azure Blue.
The TEW or Tonally Enhanced Wood technique is essentially a form of roasting. It is a process that involves heating wood under controlled conditions, often in a vacuum, to remove moisture and volatile compounds such as sugars and resins by modifying the wood to improve its sound and structural qualities. This process results in a wood that is more stable, resistant to climate changes and exhibits greater clarity, resonance and separation between the notes giving them a unique sustain and definition.
